Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
The short version
This site sets no advertising cookies, and no analytics cookies unless you accept them. There is no tracking pixel, no embedded video and no social widget. Nothing follows you from here to anywhere else.
On your first visit you are asked a real question, and the answer changes what runs. Accept, and Google Analytics loads with its own cookies to count which pages get read. Choose only essential, and it never loads at all — and if you accepted once and changed your mind, its cookies are deleted. Either way your typefaces are fetched from Google, which discloses your IP address to a third party.
Keep this true. Google Analytics was added on 24 September 2026, and it is wired to the gate: its tag is deliberately not in the HTML, and it loads only once bm.consent is granted — never before, and never for a visitor who chose only essential. The moment anyone adds Meta Pixel, an embedded YouTube video, Calendly, Hotjar or a chat widget, this page stops being accurate, and that script has to pass through the same gate.
A notice whose answer changes nothing is worse than no notice at all. If tracking is added and the gate is not wired to it, remove the notice rather than leave it lying.
What is actually stored on your device
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
bm.consent |
localStorage (not a cookie) | Remembers your answer to the notice below — granted or essential — so you are not asked on every visit |
Until you clear your browser storage |
_ga |
Cookie · only if you accept | Google Analytics. Tells one browser apart from another so a return visit is not counted as a new person | 2 years |
_ga_L23CPC6WYN |
Cookie · only if you accept | Google Analytics. Keeps track of the current visit | 2 years |
The bm.consent entry is strictly necessary: it only remembers the choice you made yourself. It holds no identifier, is never sent to a server, and cannot be used to recognise you anywhere else, so no consent is required for it.
The two _ga cookies are a different matter, which is why they are only set if you accept. They do carry an identifier and they are sent to Google. Choosing only essential prevents them, and clearing site data in your browser removes everything on this list.
Third-party requests
Three things on this site reach outside it. Only one of them sets a cookie, and only with your permission, but all three are worth naming honestly.
Google Analytics
If — and only if — you accept, the page loads gtag.js from googletagmanager.com and sends page views to Google Analytics. It records which pages are read, roughly where in the world the visit came from and what kind of device it was. It does not record your name, your email or anything you type into a form.
Google acts as a data processor here, and the data reaches servers outside the EEA. If you would rather not take part, choose only essential — nothing loads, and no request is made. You can change your answer at any time through Cookie Settings in the footer; switching to only essential also deletes the cookies it already set.
Google Fonts
The typefaces are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. No cookie is set, but your browser must connect to Google's servers to fetch the files, and any such connection discloses your IP address.
A 2022 ruling by the Munich Regional Court (LG München I, 3 O 17493/20) found that passing an IP address to Google Fonts without consent breached the GDPR. The risk is small but real, and the fix is simple: download the font files and serve them from this domain. That removes the third-party connection entirely and is also faster. We recommend doing it before launch.
Links to LinkedIn and WhatsApp
The contact section links out to LinkedIn and WhatsApp. These are plain links, not embedded widgets — nothing from those platforms runs on this page, and they learn nothing about you unless you click. Once you do, their own cookie and privacy policies apply.
Server logs
Like any web server, the host records requests — IP address, timestamp, page requested and user agent — to keep the site available and to investigate abuse. These logs are not cookies and are not used to build a profile of you. See the Privacy Policy for retention.
Managing storage yourself
You can change your answer at any time from Cookie Settings, at the foot of the home page. You can also clear or block site data from your browser settings; on this site that has no side effect beyond seeing the notice, and possibly the mailing-list invitation, once more.
Changes
If tracking is ever introduced, this page will be updated before it goes live, not after.
